IT'S NOVEMBER 2016!

How did that happen? I haven't blogged since December 2015! Almost 1 year! Need I say it's been a busy year? I won't start with excuses... I apologize for keeping you waiting. Onward...

Have a look at the Christmas Ornaments 2016 page; I've posted the submissions; far fewer than last year. Because our ornaments didn't start arriving until later in the fall, we changed the deadline for submissions. With a few days left before we start voting, I'm hoping our customers will come through and deliver. Deadline is December 1st at the close of the day. Voting will start December 2nd and will end on the 9th. Winner will be announced on the 10th and the sale of the ornaments will begin.

The Viewer's Choice award is a fabulous prize:

GRAND PRIZE

1 pair (small) Perfect Scissors by Karen Kay Buckley
8-fat quarter bundle of Christmas fabric
1-spool Aurifil sewing thread
3 skeins of Valdani Perle Cotton #12
1 pkg Chenille needles

This year, the moneys raised will be gifted to the Imagination Library, a very worthy cause bringing books to young children. Help us with your generosity when we start the sale of our ornaments.

Lolah has been extremely busy this year... She's about to be joined by Louie who will be here soon taking up the ever-growing waiting list. Louie will accommodate king-sized quilts. Watch for his arrival!

Which leads me to announce the long-awaited CLOSURE: MARK YOUR CALENDARS:

December 18th- January 16th

SPRUCE IT UP QUILT SHOP

will be closed for renovations!!

We'll be updating you here and on Facebook as work progresses and if the re-opening date changes.

Stay tuned... keep on stitching! Keep watching for new ornaments... mark the date to vote... only once per viewer please!

thank you,

Lorette

Here's what happened the week of April 13th. It was a busy 2 week period beginning with the previous as I gave 2 workshops/trunk shows and it was sale week at Spruce It Up.

Lolah's friend: Carole L.
Name/Pattern of the quilt: French Braid

A feature we love at Spruce It Up is to apply the binding while the quilt is loaded. It is so much faster but it does require a steady hand... a skill Lise possesses.

It's not always quiet while someone is on Lolah! There's hustle and bustle going on here! Check out the Show and Tell page (look on the header for it) and see the work brought in that week.

Marie announced an Ocean Waves Bargello class:

Shortly after the sale we received a new order of fabrics! Yes we do get excited to see new bolts!

Friends dropped in to see the new fabrics...

and chose their favorites for the Bargello class! Here the girls are looking through a value finder.

We do take time for ourselves! Sew evening with friends... Despite what the sign says, the shop was closed and it was after-hours! Hollie brought her Margaritaville and treated us all to a refreshing drink... dinner by our in-house chef followed.

Take time for yourselves! Have a sew day!

Toodles,

Lorette
